Patient Experience & Engagement of Ethnically Diverse Groups and Communities

Focus of work: To understand the experiences of ethnically diverse groups when receiving MH care. To engage with people from ethnically diverse backgrounds and listen to their experiences; with an aim to create better experiences of mental healthcare for ethnically diverse communities. To consider to what extent implicit and unconscious bias, has an impact on the quality and level of care received by ethnically diverse groups and communities.


Resulting outcomes:
Rationale and practical suggestions on how to cultivate Mind-set and behavioural strategies, to facilitate an effective, inclusive and innovative professional environment.
Review of ethos, values, mission and organisational behaviours, inclusive leadership, infrastructure for an inclusive culture, evaluation and good practice.
Practical suggestions and solutions on how to deal with impact of unconscious, implicit and affinity bias.

Mitigating Stress in The Workplace

We were Introduced to a Partner at KPMG, to discuss mind-sets and behaviours resulting in a successful engagement.
KPMG employees working in a highly pressurised environment were prone to stress and anxiety; Talmud identified strategies that help alleviate this stress and support their wellbeing.


Resulting outcomes:
Talmud analysed the working environment and presented daily practices and strategies to improve decision making, cultivate healthy relationships and manage stress. Resulting in a decrease in visible stress, improved communication and healthier relationships.

Intercultural Police and Community Engagement 

OPEN SOCIETY/GEORGE SOROS FOUNDATIONS/IDEA (International Debate Education Association) The Netherlands


We consulted and gave training on intercultural police and community engagement for IDEA NL (the International Debate association Netherlands) and Open Society Foundations - A philanthropic foundation set up by George Soros, to promote democracy. 
We advised on contextualising and communicating issues of marginalisation and discrimination to international groups of delegates. Additionally, advising on cohesive, behaviours, recognition of biases and how to develop healthy, productive and efficient working relationships within a short time frame.
We facilitated and trained international groups of delegates, to collaborate, form strategies and to advocate for marginalised and discriminated groups within their respective countries and jointly as an international movement; with an aim to affecting policy.
Funded by Open Society Foundations we designed a tool kit and methodology aimed at challenging ethnic profiling, identifying and challenging unconscious bias, promoting ethical stop and search practice and improving relationships, between police and diverse communities. This was delivered to delegations from the Netherlands, Barcelona, Belgium, Turkey, Macedonia and France. This program significantly improved intercultural policing in these countries from 2010 – 2020, this was measured by a reduction in ethnic profiling of Dutch Moroccan youth and improved intercultural relationships.


Resulting outcomes:
We trained Dutch trainers in my methodology, who then continued the project in Gouda, this was documented by a Dutch researcher. We designed a tool kit and methodology aimed at challenging ethnic profiling, identifying and challenging unconscious bias, promoting ethical stop and search practice and improving relationships, between police and diverse communities. This was delivered to delegations from the Netherlands, Barcelona, Belgium, Turkey, Macedonia and France. This program significantly improved intercultural policing in these countries.

Their focus is on working collaboratively with the UK Government and charity partners to design and deliver more effective services – so they can help more people to improve their lives and achieve better value for public money.
Resulting outcomes:
Talmud trained directors and heads of department in inclusive leadership and conscious inclusion.
Established inclusive working groups and continues to provide consultation on inclusive behaviour change, to facilitate systemic cultural change.
